World Championships 2013: Zermatt’s ski instructors are the best

31.01.2013

Zermatt’s ski instructors are world champions. Zermatt’s contingent performed outstandingly well at the ISIA Ski Instructors World Championships in Bulgaria. Alex Taugwalder is World Champion Ski Instructor in Giant Slalom, with Demian Franzen third. Zermatt’s instructors were also top dog in the synchronised runs.

At the International Ski Instructors Association (ISIA) World Championships held in Pamporovo, Bulgaria, at the end of January 2013 Zermatt’s ski instructors stood head and shoulders above the rest. There were podium finishes for no fewer than two of Zermatt’s contingent: Alexander Taugwalder picked up gold for first place in the Giant Slalom, and Demian Franzen won bronze for third place. “We are so proud of our new World Champion and our sensational third place!” says Ralph Schmidhalter of the Matterhorn Ski & Snowboard School Zermatt.

In the synchronised run Switzerland’s Team Red came first, with Demian Franzen; second was Team White, with Alexander Taugwalder, who is also head instructor at the Matterhorn Ski & Snowboard School Zermatt.
