Zermatt Festival: Classic meets Jazz

The Kultur Zermatt Club is integrating an interesting programme point into this year’s edition of the Zermatt Festival: On the 7th September from 7.30 p.m., it will be called “Jazz meets Classic”.

In the exclusive ambience of the Hotel Backstage, students of the Zermatt Festival Academy, the Swiss Jazz-Trio Manuel Mengis, Hans-Peter Pfammmatter and Samuel Rohrer, will be cooking up an exciting musical mix while the listeners enjoy regional delicacies. Classic pure can then be experienced in nine outstanding concerts from the 2nd to the 18th September, with a ceremonial and fresh programme: Kunstlied (Art Song) on the Riffelalp, “A German Requiem” from Brahms in the London setting with piano and four hands, a Vivaldi firework with the Baroque Ensemble Europa Galante, the Canadian opera star Barbara Hannigan, the Latvian violinist Baiba Skride, the Scharoun Ensemble Berlin, the works of the contemporary Russian composer Sofia Gubaidulina and many other bonbons to provide a colourful musical dance with classical music on the Matterhorn.
