Zermatt, now released: Guide to Alpine and mountain restaurants

Zermatt has more cosy mountain restaurants than any other destination. Now there has been published the Alpine and mountain restaurant guidebook. This handy guide (available just in German for the moment) will keep you up to date with the culinary treats on offer in the Zermatt mountains.

Brand new and already in hot demand, this guide to Zermatt mountain cuisine has closed a gap in the market. This little book, which fits into your backpack, highlights the dilemma hikers and skiers have in choosing between sports activites or relaxed fine dining. Repeaters know that  there are too many restaurants to visit during one stay in Zermatt alone. 47 mountain restaurants (Swiss German: Beizli) are featured and illustrated on the 136 pages of this colourful new guide.

From "Adler" to "Zum See"
Zermatt has an extensive culinary offering: 18 restaurants have been awarded points by GaultMillau, Switzerland’s most popular gastronomical guide (edition 2012). There are over 100 restaurants in the village with an additional 50 in the mountains, five of which have GaultMillau points, too. Both visitors and locals have a real problem in deciding when to take a break from their sports activities. This guide helps – everything from soaking up the sun with culinary accompaniments at the "Adler Hitta" to some pleasant conviviality with Max and Greti at the "Zum See" – yes indeed, it’s all here in your guide.

Each section provides details of accessibility, dishes, specialities, tourist information, trails and slopes leading to the restaurant, opportunities for children to play as well as coordinates. Number of seats, contacts and opening hours (summer and winter) are also provided.
