Seal meets Sina by the Matterhorn

The programme for the main stages of the high calibre Zermatt Unplugged music festival is now complete, and the advance sales for the newly announced acts have been opened.

Roger Hodgson (the voice of Supertramp), David Gray, OneRepublic, Naturally 7, Sina, Marc Sway, Seal, Sina and many others are playing on eight stages spread around the village of Zermatt, without any powerful amplifiers and clever sound effects – or in other words – really “unplugged”. Once again this year, there will be an exclusive atmosphere between the public and the musicians – and that can only mean: Zermatt Unplugged. It’s also now known who will be appearing alongside the musicians listed above: the Swedish rock band Mando Diao, the roots-reggae musician Martin Jondo and the British singer-songwriter Duncan Townsend. The main programme is thereby known. 14 newcomer acts also receive a platform on six small stages. Exactly who will be appearing will be announced as they become known. At the fourth edition of Europe’s largest unplugged festival, the stage will therefore be well and truly set from the 12th to the 16th April 2011 for legends, classics, newcomers and songwriters of the present day.

The 25 bands from Switzerland, Great Britain, the USA, Germany and Sweden will cast their spell over the festival visitors: among other places, in the “Blue Lounge” club, in the Rothorn Paradise ski area, in the village of Zermatt in the marquee, in the Club Vernissage, and in bars and restaurants.

Montreux Jazz Festival as guest

The “Snowboat Caffé” will now become the “Montreux Jazz Boat”, where the crew from Lake Geneva invite you to sample Montreux Jazz – with live music and archive recordings from the 44-year history of this legendary festival.

A further highlight is the jam session from James Walsh and his surprise guests. And, last but not least, there’s also some time for celebration: every day at the after-show parties in the “Vernissage” and in the “Broken Bar Disco” in the Hotel Post.
