Zermatt stands for sports on snow 365 days a year. In spring, snow lovers find ski trails flooded with sun, comfortable mountain restaurants with hours under Nature’s solarium on the terrace, and the main attractions every spring: spring skiing during Easter and the music festival Zermatt Unplugged.
Spring in Zermatt means glistening ski trails under the sun, perfect snow conditions, and enjoying a sunbath on the terrace of a mountain restaurant. Zermatt is certain to have snow in spring as well. Easter is just around the corner, which means it is the perfect time to enjoy mild mountain air on skis. Until 21 April 2013, almost all of the 360 kilometers of trails in the Zermatt ski areas will remain open all the way into Italy. On the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise area, snow sports are possible year round, 365 days a year. Even in the middle of summer, 21 kilometers of perfectly groomed trails on the Theodul and Furgg glaciers lure you to the mountains. An Event of a Special Kind The Zermatt Unplugged music festival draws fans with its mellow acoustic sound. This year marks the sixth edition from 9 to 13 April 2013. In nine locations around the village and in one at 2288 meters on Sunnegga with a view of the Matterhorn, international stars will perform acoustic music of a gentle sound. The music mountain highlights are the Sunnegga Sessions – during every sunset on the mountain. There are over 30 free concerts during Zermatt Unplugged.
Easter with Wolli The young, black-nosed sheep Wolli will ride up and down Bahnhofstrasse in a horse-drawn carriage on Easter Sunday afternoon between 4 pm and 5 pm and surprise children with goodies.
