Jasemba, official name Pasang Lhamu Chuli, is a 7,350 metre-high mountain in the Himalayas, on the Chinese-Nepalese border. Located in the Solo Khumbu region, it is the main peak of the Nangpai Gosum massif, a ridge extending from the 8,000 metre-high Cho Oyu.

The GGB Gornergrat Bahn started operations on the 20th August 1898 – the first electric rack railway in Switzerland and the second in the world. A tourist attraction of the Extra class was created thanks to innovative pioneering spirit: The Gornergrat Bahn was the first railway in Europe to run at an altitude of more than 3,000 metres above sea level.

During his career, Pirmin Zurbriggen (45) won 40 World Cup races, four Overall World Cup Titles, four World Championships and was Olympic champion in 1988. Zurbriggen heads up the young talent department at Zermatt Ski Club and is president of the regional association Ski Valais. He lives with his wife and five children in Zermatt. In this interview, he reveals what it takes to awaken and develop a love of winter sports in children.

Water is energy and the elixir of life. In Zermatt, water is channelled from 86 springs in 12 headwaters into 1,600 homes, 175 hydrants and 23 fountains. It is 95% pure spring water, of exceptional quality and it meets the drinking water requirements set by the Swiss Food Law.

Her father was Swiss and adored the mountains. Her mother was British and taught her the island way of life. She met her first husband in 1939 at the foot of the Matterhorn.
