Events

A variety of traditional events contribute to Zermatt’s charm in summer. The Geissenkehr (blackneck goats parade) through the Bahnhofstrasse has for many years represented a highlight for both visitors and locals. The folklore presentations and folklore evenings invite you to while away the time in a convivial and melodious atmosphere, the folklore procession draws onlookers from countries near and far, and the Gornergrat festival with its alphorn world record attempt could not be more traditional.  Plunge into the world of customs and tradition.

For six weeks in the summer, a herd of about 50 Blackneck goats passes through the Bahnhofstrasse in Zermatt.
