Lötschberg Car Train

In only 15 minutes from Kandersteg to Goppenstein by car train – the shortest way from the midlands to Valais and back.

The Lötschberg Car Train shortens the trip by automobile from Switzerland’s midlands to Valais and is fast and comfortable. It is operated by the BLS (Bern-Lötschberg-Simplon Bahn). The trains travel from Kandersteg in Canton Bern to Goppenstein in Canton Valais. The trip with the loaded automobiles lasts 15 minutes. Passengers remain in their vehicles during the trip. Those who have travelled longer distances have some time to relax. Afterwards, the trip continues to Visp and Täsch (5 km from Zermatt). There the automobile is parked and one changes to the Zermatt shuttle train for the convenient arrival in the middle of auto-free Zermatt.
