Hiking Tour Taste of ZermattRegional hiking tour

The “Taste of Zermatt” hiking tour proves that hiking and culinary enjoyment both can be combined very well in Zermatt. One goes lightly over hill and dale. Always with the possibility of making an interim stop in a mountain restaurant.

The path leads in the promising mountains east of Zermatt where the Matterhorn can always be seen. Great distant views, a look into the valleys and sightings of wild animals. And one always faces tough choices: Which of the mountain restaurants along the way would one like to use for a stop? Or should I wait a bit longer and continue? Enjoyment and relaxation are the maxim here.
  • Suitable for children age 6 and older
  • Matterhorn reflected in the lakes Stellisee and Grindjisee
  • Depending on the time of year: Alpine flowers and wild animals to be discovered and observed (marmot, chamois, eagles, rare birds)

  • Weather conditions can change quickly in the mountains. Appropriate clothing is therefore essential, along with adequate supplies of food and water. In uncertain weather, turn back in good time.
  • Inform others of planned route, and whenever possible avoid going alone.

  • It is forbidden to walk on the ski pistes.
  • Please be considerate to other walkers and to plants and animals.
