Zermatt in spring: Lovely sun, perfect snow, long days
Zermatt in spring is just amazing: long days full of sun and fun in perfect snow! Sunny terraces at Zermatt’s legendary mountain restaurants invite you to relax and enjoy some good food.
The air is clear, the sky is immense and incredibly blue. Sunny terraces at Zermatt’s over 50 mountain restaurants invite you to linger. Perfect pistes provide endless fun in Zermatt and Italy, at Cervinia and Valtournenche.
In the face of the Matterhorn, surrounded by snow, guests lounge in reclining chairs in the snow-white igloo village at Rotenboden (2,800 m) on Gornergrat. The igloo bar, located directly beside the piste, will be open until 27 April. The igloo village is the only snow village in Switzerland that offers overnight stays in igloos during Easter. Following a winter with unusually much snow, Zermatt’s pistes are in perfect condition in the entire snow sport area.
Valley descents all open
The Sunnegga-Rothorn and Gornergrat areas will be open to skiers and snowboarders until 27 April 2014, and even the valley descents will be accessible beyond Easter. Provided the weather gods play along they will also be open until 27 April.
Snow sports all year round
Zermatt stands for snow sport fun 365 days a year. After 27 April 2014, the skiing area at the Matterhorn glacier paradise will remain open for the rest of the year. The crossover into Italy (Cervinia/Valtournenche) will be accessible until 4 May 2014.
