Swiss ski instructor championships: Zermatt comes out top
This weekend, Zermatt’s ski and snowboard instructors swept the board at the Swiss championships winning, among other prizes, three gold medals.
Zermatt provides an excellent training environment for ski instructors. Not only do they look after our guests, they are also outstanding ski racers. At Lauchernalp/VS, the head of the Matterhorn Ski and Snowboard School Zermatt, Alexander (Läx) Taugwalder, won two gold medals, in the ski cross and giant slalom disciplines.
In addition, Yannic Lerjen, member of the Olympic team in Sochi, came in first in the Big Air Ski competition, followed by Nathan Taugwalder in second place. Kari Eggen came in second in the Men 4 category. And last but not least, Zermatt’s team received the bronze medal in the Formation Demo Team competition.
