Paradise for pros
Zermatt-Matterhorn excels with a wide range of snow sport activities: “Never a dull moment”, says the news item released on the subject of the tanking. It also highlights Zermatt’s Ski-Safari which allows skiers to cover between 10,000 and 12,500 metres of altitude, depending on the route, without using the same lift or piste twice. Two further highlights that ensure the destination’s place among the top ten ski regions for professionals are Europe‘s longest ski run and Zermatt’s challenging freeride routes.
Steep slopes for experts
Professionals are partial to steep slopes, something the Zermatt-Matterhorn destination does not lack in: the steepest parts of Piste 59, situated on the Cervinia side of the Matterhorn ski paradise directly beneath the Matterhorn, have a gradient of 65 per cent.
The ski regions were assessed in a total of 14 different categories. The maximum number of achievable points is 100. The results of all previous tests in the “Activities for experts” and “Freeride activities” categories were used to determine the top regions for pros.
