Spoil Your Taste Buds and Eyes

The Swiss Food Festival Zermatt attracts visitors with Swissness and the best from the region. The programme to pamper your taste buds and eyes begins on Friday evening,  August 8th.

Groups of 100 people each will be spoiled by one of 21 top Zermatt chefs in the kitchens of the Mont Cervin Palace and the Zermatterhof with countless delicacies on Friday evening. Always with just the right Valais wine, six each single-variety vintages from Petite Arvine and Cronalin. Tickets for the Kitchen Party are selling like hotcakes. Cost: CHF 293 or as many Swiss francs as the cooks have together collected in the form of Gault Millau points. 

On Saturday, 9 August, the focus shifts again to regional products. In the chalets along the Bahnhofstrasse, regional products await tasting. These include Zermatt salads and vegetables produced in the “Zermatt Vegetable Garden.” On the Kirchplatz, the best at the best price: lamb roulade, Eringer bratwurst and much more: each portion for CHF 10.

On Sunday morning, there’s the gondola breakfast by Matterhorn Express up to almost 3,000 m. Travel and food: 6,380 m by gondola with breakfast delicacies for CHF 63.80.

Folklore fans also get their due on Sunday, because the Zermatt Folklore Festival draws 1,200 performers from all over Switzerland to the Matterhorn village. The big folklore parade begins at 1:30 pm.
