Ski testing in Zermatt: ski fans prepare for winter

Those wishing to prepare for the winter and get an early start to the season can try out the latest ski models at the ski testing in Zermatt from October 2013.

For ski fans seeking that special insider atmosphere, there is no better opportunity than ski testing time in Zermatt. That’s when real ski fans hit the slopes. This year, ski testing will run from the first weekend in October to the weekend of 26/27 October. Thereafter until 1 December, the test centre will be open on a daily basis. Fans can test the latest models manufactured by the following companies: Atomic, Blizzard, Dynastar, Elan, Fischer, Head, K2, Movement, Nordica, Rossignol, Salomon, Scott and Völkl. Fast-working ski technicians at Trockener Steg (2,939 m) will be available to adjust the skis to your personal ski boots in a matter of seconds.
Ski fans can take advantage of the attractive “Skitest” hotel packages of Zermatt Tourismus. 

Facts for ski testing fans
-    In 2013, the ski test centre at Trockener Steg (2,939 m) will be open on the following weekends: 5/6 Oct., 12/13 Oct., 19/20 Oct. From Saturday 26 Oct. to 1 Dec. 2013 it will be open on a daily basis.
-    Opening of ski season in the Cervinia/Valtournenche region (Italy) and link-up between Zermatt region and Italy scheduled for 1 November 2013.
-    Restaurants at Matterhorn glacier paradise will be open until 29 Sept. and closed thereafter due to renovation work. Grand re-opening on 15 December 2013.
-    356 days a year snow sport thrills in Zermatt on 21 km of pistes in summertime and 360 km at the peak of the winter season. At 3,883 m, Zermatt, the highest ski region in Europe, offers guaranteed snow all year round.
